My name is Ayanna Martinez, coordinator of the “Let’s Do Lunch” Initiative. Lets Do Lunch is a hunger prevention program that focuses on providing underserved children and families with adequate food and nourishment each third and fourth weeks of the month, when food stamps are beginning to run out.

“Let’s Do Lunch” is a sector of the non-profit efforts of Horizons Educational Programming and the Community Neighborhood Renaissance Partnership. As a non-profit agency we address several issues relating to adults and inner-city youth on Tallahassee’s Southside.

The “Let’s Do Lunch” initiative helps make up the Community Wellness platform that we are committed to providing. In addition to Community Wellness, Horizons is dedicated to the advancement of minority communities through computer literacy, economic empowerment, and educational enrichment of low-income adults and youth.

With your help, on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 we will launch the “Let’s Do Lunch” Initiative and provide more than 300 residents and families in Apalachee Ridge Estates with nutritious foods, and drinks each month.
